SheBIZ - Women Taking Care of Business

SheBIZ

One of the many reasons why Work Life Organization is doing so well is my involvement with SheBIZ. SheBIZ is a women's referral network founded by Debby Hipps in partnership with Mountain BizWorks.

SheBIZ allows groups of women entrepreneurs to get together once a month to share referrals and to network. There is an atmosphere of support and encouragement as the SheBIZ members share their successes and challenges.

Work Life Organization was recently featured at a SheBIZ After Dark event where I shared my Simple Life Time Management tips. If learning more about Time Management interests you, I offer complimentary consultations. Email me at:sarah@worklifeorg.com if you want to get started.

Organization Tips

Clutter Free Giving

Gift

We are in the thick of the Holiday season and so it is time to talk about Clutter Free Giving. Each year I talk with clients who are overwhelmed and stressed about what to give their loved ones.

My biggest suggestion is to start with what's important. You and your time is the most precious gift you can give to a loved one. Fortunately gifts of time and other clutter free gifts tend to be less expensive and more meaningful. Here are some of my favorites.

  • Gifts of Time for Seniors - take them to a local holiday light festival. I still remember how my Great Aunt Helen's face lit up like a little girl as we drove through the spectacular light displays.

  • Gifts of Time for Children - give them a coupon book to take them to their favorite activity. This is great for skating, sledding and other outdoor activities.

  • Gifts of Time for Busy Parents - offer to baby sit or to take the kids out to a movie. Parents need quality alone time, where they know the children are in trusted hands, more than anything else.

  • Gifts of Time for that Special Someone - season tickets to the theater or their favorite sport. Tell them you want to make them a priority with a guaranteed date night for you both.

If you still want to give a gift, but live too far away for a Gift of Time, there are still even more gifts you can give that won't break the bank and have minimal clutter.

  • Magazine Subscriptions - This is my favorite because they are reminded of you every month. I love giving Smithsonian and the Funny Times.

  • Home Made Goodies - Do you make killer fudge or awe inspiring brownies? Send a tin. This is especially great for bachelors.

  • Charitable Donations - Let someone know you are taking gift giving to a whole level, donate a gift in their name to their favorite cause.

The key to clutter free giving is to make it personal and tied to an experience you can both remember for years to come.
